It's been another busy month and I had exciting news that I won a kids' fabric design contest - the company are working with me now to produce several different colourways for my pattern. You can see the curtains and blinds they manufacture - soon my design will be in their catalogue, which is just brilliant. It's the Natural Curtain Company
Yesterday I ran up a quick pair of kids' swim shorts using some of my rainforest inspired fabric - they look so cute - need some elastic now.
I bought the pattern from Dana Made It and once I'd downloaded and printed the pattern (scaled to 100% very important!) it was easy peasy. I also made a bow tie from the same fabric today and it looks pretty dapper I think! I downloaded a free pattern from LIBERTY BLOG and it was pretty straightforward and took a little longer to make up than I'd thought - about an hour.
I almost forgot - yesterday first thing I finished designing a pattern for a scatter rug (just in time for the contest end date) for Carpet Vista - fingers crossed!
That's all for now. For the next few weeks I'm concentrating on a line of greeting cards/notecards that I will be selling direct to public in December. I also aim to market them to retailers in the New Year. I've decided to stop entering contests for a while, mainly because it takes a huge amount of energy, not only with the designs themselves but also networking. I aim to build up my POD stores as well as explore new directions.
